We define specific microbial pathogens for SPF (Specific pathogen-free condition) as below under the consideration of microbial status reported by The Japanese Association of Laboratory Animal Facilities of National University Corporations. Regular health monitoring are performed by ICLAS monitoring center every three months (annual for some pathogens).
当施設では、国立大学法人動物実験施設協議会の微生物学的ステータスレポートを考慮してSPF環境における特定病原体を設定しています。
SPF検査の頻度は年4回（項目によっては年１回）で、ICLASモニタリングセンター に依頼しています。

| Common (Com) | Should be negative. Especially, strain animals are required to be negative. これらの微生物検査は陰性であることが望ましい。特に系統維持動物は陰性であることをめざす。 |
| Excellent (Ex) | Should be negative for highly immune-deficient animals or immunosuppressive experiments. But, these pathogens are actually not well discussed in usual cases, because it is physically very difficult to exclude these pathogens from circumstance (ex; Staphylococcus aureus) これらの微生物は、高度の免疫不全動物や免疫抑制実験では陰性であることが望ましい。しかし、これらを周辺環境から完全に排除するには厳密な管理と設備が必要であり、通常の実験においては存在の可否を問わない（特にStaphylococcus aureusは市販のSPFマウスでも常在している可能性が高いので、完全に排除するのは難しい）。 |
